Hump Day | Feeling Under the Weather?
Don't let those Wednesdays get you down!
Happiness is the most important factor in life. It is your everything and should be your first priority. I find Wednesdays to be the hardest day of the week, as I feel trapped in between my obligations and my freedom (the weekend). From one free spirit (who needs sunshine, exercise, open fields, and dogs licking my face to make me happy) to another, here are some simple tips and tricks to get you through your week, even on gloomy Wednesday!
Top 3 Tricks to Improve your Mood
1. Smile :)
It is incredibly cliche, but smiling for more than 10 seconds releases dopamine in your brain and chemically forces you to intake a little dose of happiness. When I am hangry (hungry angry) or feeling low energy, I try to force myself to make a cheeky smile, because frowning gives you wrinkles and I would hate to be in a bad mood and have wrinkles!
2. Meditate
Focus on your immediate goals and mediate on them. Too often, we create lofty goals far out in the future. Think about what you can accomplish today, this week, and this month that will contribute to your overall personal success. No one race is ran with one step. It is ran by a series of small steps in a sequence that when blended together becomes the winning race of an olympian, or the success of getting to work on time. By visualizing your present future, you will be able to stay focused even on your worse days. Goals create motivation, and motivation will make the leap from Wednesday to Friday go from a mile to a meter.
3. Breathe
Breathing is like smiling, it sounds easy as we do it in our subconscious, but it is actually work to breathe through difficult scenarios. It is much easier to react in any situation that to pause, think, and breathe through your decisions and impulses. Breathing properly will increase your oxygen levels to your brain, giving you a clearer head, and allowing you to make thoughtful decisions. We all are imperfect, living in a perfect world. I don't want to be perfect, I want to be me, perfectly imperfect.
