Is it okay to work out on a cleanse?

Answer: Yes

During a cleanse although you are consuming less calories, you are still consuming enough to work out. I recommend working out in the morning. In the morning you naturally workout during a "starvation" period, therefor your body is already accustomed to exerting energy without food. During my cleanse this week, I did peloton cycling, BBG workout, and yoga.

How many days should you juice?

Answer: Depends

Depending on your current diet depends how easily you will be able to adapt to a cleanse. I recommend eating only raw 3 days before you start your cleanse to prepare your body for only consuming raw juices. If you have never done a cleanse before start with a one day cleanse, with two nut based juices. This will be a higher calorie cleanse. If you already maintain a plant based diet, shoot for the moon, and try a three day cleanse. You will have greater success in restoring your body!

Will I be hungry?

Answer: Yes

I love the physical act of eating more than I am "hungry." A cleanse is all about your mental strength. You consume sufficient calories, it is honestly about fighting temptation. When I am working out or doing a cleanse and I feel like I want to quit (which happens everyday) I tell myself that if I can't make it through one hour of Barry's Bootcamps or a 3 day cleanse how am I going to make it in life. Life is hard, it is unfair, and bad things happen to good people. Push through and persevere, ultimately these skills in the kitchen and the gym will translate over into more vital situations.

Can I lose 5lbs doing a cleanse?

Answer: Yes

Although you will lose weight by doing a cleanse, that should not be your goal. Unless you plan on maintaining a liquid diet forever, you will naturally go back to your previous weight. The goal of a juice cleanse is to cleanse your skin, your intestines, sharpen your mental strength, and restore your body on a cellular level.

How often should I cleanse?

Answer: 2x/year or more

Your body needs a break. It is exhausting having to fight off illness, recover from those Sunday morning hangovers, and deal with all the toxins in pollution, soaps, make-up etc. Give your body a break at least twice a year to restore and regenerate. Ideally one would cleanse once a month!

Do you Sh*t a lot?

Answer: Yes

The first day of the cleanse, is really an intestinal cleanse. It allows your body to push everything that has been stuck for who knows how long. Personally, I have a very sensitive intestinal track and need a cleanse to clear out my system. Sh*t more weigh less ;).

Where do I buy a cleanse?

Answer: Pressed Juicery

Pressed Juicery is my favorite juice cleanse for a number of reasons:

  1. They are unpasteurized raw juices made fresh
  2. They let you sample every juice, so you know you will be enjoying your cleanse every step of the way
  3. They offer 2 free waters, one aloe vera water, the other a chlorophyll water with each day you cleanse
  4. They are inexpensive. Some cleanses can cost you up to 100 per day. In the store, Pressed Juicery only charges $39 per day which includes 6 juices and 2 waters
  5. They personalize each cleanse for you. You can make it as hard or easy as you want. I like having 2 nut based juices (vanilla almond and brazil nut) with each day to give me more protein and calories to keep me full and satisfied.
  6. They educate. Struggling with what juices do what. They educate you on their products.
