Frisky Friday | Plants are Sexy
Be Your Sexiest Self
Eating is a cultural past time, a necessity to sustain life, an ends to a mean, and a satiating multi-daily occurrence. Eating should make you feel sexy, not bloated or lethargic. If you don’t feel energized after you eat, you are eating the wrong things.
Food is energy for the body. When people eat meats and dairy products they feel “heavy” as their body is having to work in excess to breakdown the product to get macronutrients.
I used to always be teased as a kid that I preferred “rabbit” food. Well guess what, those rabbits are also associated with models, actresses, play boy bunnies and sex symbols of the 21st century. If you would like to associate eating plants with sexy women, that is fine by me.
A sexy lifestyle is one that empowers you to feel and be beautiful from the inside out. This consists of mostly raw fruits and vegetables. Although the act of cooking is very satiating, when a food is cooked you denature proteins, vitamins, and enzymes, and the food no longer has the full nutrients it once did. I try to eat mostly raw with eating cooked potatoes and organic wild rice on a daily bases, but I do also have a cheat meal in the week, because life is about balance.
Both potatoes and rice are often looked at as heavy starches and contribute to weight gain. That is in fact the contrary. Wild rice contains all the essential amino acids (although no one food needs to contain all of them in order to get your proper allowance). People in Asian countries have been proving longevity in a primary plant based diet for thousands of years. Potatoes have also sustained life in nordic countries during famine and poor living conditions as they are a nutrient dense food.
Raw foods are the sexiest foods. They are full of nutrients, color, and physical appeal. There is nothing better than a perfectly ripe avocado or a florida mango from your friend’s backyard. Raw foods should be eating in variety like the rainbow. The more color variation in your diet, the greater opportunity for a diverse array of vitamins and nutrients.
On a typical day you can find me eating at Juice Press. An organic plant based eatery in NYC. Finding options that fit into your every day busy life, is vital. If it’s too much of a challenge to eat sexy, it will be a diet, not a life style. I do not promote diets. They are fads. I do promote an organic whole food plant based lifestyle that will make you look and feel your best. Empower your body to be its best version, and embrace your sexuality with sexy foods.
When transitioning to a plan based diet, it is important to remember that there is an adjustment period. Eating toxins and carcinogens produced by meat and dairy has a chemical effect on the brain, because of this some people say they feel less satiated when eating a plant based diet. This is true as your body has to break a chemical addiction, which is draining. It takes 22 days to build or break a habit, so be diligent and know that in life nothing good comes easy.
